I'll be honest and say I never would have bought this if Amazon hadn't e-mailed me about last-minute Christmas gifts a few years ago and included this. Since my husband used all kinds of baking stones, cornmeal, etc. to try to make frozen pizzas taste good, I was intrigued. When I clicked on the reviews, I was astonished to find that almost every single reviewer said they expected it to be a piece of little-used junk but loved it and used it constantly! I bought one, and my husband has forgotten we even own those baking stones. With him and two teenage boys in the house, I literally cannot keep frozen pizzas in stock in my freezer. They fire it up every time they want a snack! It was the only thing my oldest requested before moving into his first college apartment...and it may be the only thing he eats this semester.

My only problem with this little pizza oven was the "non stick" cooking plate. its not really that non stick. the problem was cured by placing a sheet of aluminum foil on it and spraying it with cooking spray. then you can just slide the whole thing onto a cutting board and dont have to worry about prying your pizza free. otherwise it cooks great, pizza is done and HOT in 12 min or less.

Always had a hard time making frozen pizzas in the oven. Crust was either too soggy for me or everything overcooked. Saw reviews of this and was intrigued. We've made several frozen pizzas (Freschetta self-rising crust) since getting it and they have turned out great. The time savings in making pizzas with this is mostly just that you don't have to pre-heat an oven. The self-rising crust pizzas take 10-12 minutes of bottom heat followed by 10-12 minutes of top/bottom heat and then it's done (20-24 minutes total). It is also really fun to be able to watch it cooking, especially when it's almost finished.

Not sure if I would spend the money on this myself, but my roommate has one and we both use it all the time for those cheap frozen pizzas. Once you figure out how long to cook each pizza type, its a breeze to throw a pizza on there and set the timer. The pizzas come out with a nice crispy crust but not overcooked toppings, and this can be further controlled by changing which element is on. It is fairly easy to clean. If you more often buy more expensive and thicker/larger frozen pizzas, it may be more difficult to get them to come out correctly with this device. (Big-chain store deli pizzas come to mind)
I was surprised to see this or a similar machine on BoingBoing as a recent news item when we have owned this for over a year now.

This is the most time-saving, money$$$$-saving appliance I have ever purchased. We can now stop in one of the popular "You bake" fresh pizza shops and spend about one-third (and sometimes less) than we used to spend on pizza carry-out. I would disagree with some reviews saying that these pizzas taste the same as oven-baked. I believe they taste alot better, since you can control the amount of doneness on the top and the bottom independently of each other. This is a great gift for a pizza lover. We bought multiple of these for throwing parties, and can crank out 6 per hour. The best part is that you can get your face down in the pizza as it is baking and make minor adjustments on the fly if you care to.

I am a pizza fanatic and make my own pizza from scratch as well as frozen pizza quite often. I have used this for both types of pizza. In both cases, the pizza tasted just about the same as when I made it in the oven. It wasn't better, it wasn't worse, but it wasn't worth the money. I already have an oven and it took me about the same amount of time to make the pizzas on this than in the oven, if not longer. This certainly works and it is a neat little novelty item but if you ask me it's just another thing to junk up your kitchen, assuming you already have an oven. This could possibly be a bit more useful for a college dorm room, for example, or other places with no oven.

I was somewhat skeptical when purchasing this item. I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised by how well this item performs. I have two teenage sons and they now love frozen pizza whereas they turned their noses up prior. My oldest wants to make sure that he gets one to take to the dorm when he goes to college in the fall. I do think an on/off button would complete the total package, but honestly, this does an excellent job of what it promises. The non stick pan is a breeze to clean. This stores easily due to the removable pan. I paid $34.97 and got free shipping right before Christmas. A great deal! My children love Red Baron pizza the best, but we have tried other brands with thicker crusts and it bakes them all very well.

Our kids had already made about 7 pizzas the day after the unit arrived before I made my first this evening. Like their pizzas, the one I made was cooked to perfection and tasted great. Since the appliance is out in the open the wonderful aroma of your home cooked pizza wafts through the house. Awesome. Clean up is a breeze with the non-stick finish on the easily removed pan.
I'm even thinking that the Pizzazz might make a great nacho maker too - but I haven't tried that yet.
My one gripe and the reason I didn't give the unit 5 stars was the lack of an on/off switch. Leaving one out was a ridiculous oversight for such an otherwise well engineered and user friendly product.

The Pizzazz Pizza oven is fast and easy. I had my doubts about it at first but it cooks fast, top and bottom. I don't have to heat up the oven for one pizza and by the time it takes to heat the oven we are eating pizza. I keep it on the counter and remove the round cooking pan when not using. The Pizzazz Pizza Oven has really improved the taste of frozen pizza. Both sides are cooked and if you want the bottom crispier then leave it cook longer then the top. If you prefer a bottom that is not crispy then keep cooking the top until the cheeze is bubbly but the bottom is also just as you want. To be honest, it will never be as good as buying from one of the well known restaurants but of all the things I've tried, this is the best.

I bought this based on the recommendation of a friend who suggested that my 4 pizza loving kids would really enjoy the convenience that this device provides. He was absolutely right. The kids love it and so do I. The best thing for about it from my perspective is that it allows my kids to make a pizza for themsleves without using the oven and me having to worry about them remembering to turn off the oven when they are done. The next best thing about it is that it actually does a better job of cooking the pizza than the oven does. Both the crust and the toppings come out just right and in less time because there is no waiting for the oven to pre-heat. It is also fun to use because you get to watch the pizza as it cooks out in the open. You get to watch the crust brown and the cheese start to bubble to melted, golden browned perfection. If that's not enough to get your appetite working, then the pizza cooking aroma that fills your kitchen will.
I've used the machine with several varieties of frozen pizza and they all turn have turned out to be the best pizzas they can be. Naturally, a better frozen pizza product produces a better end result. Personally, I like Home Run Inn frozen pizzas the best, while my daugther prefers Connie's Thin Crust. I also made my own pizza using a Boboli premade crust. This cost more than most frozen pizza's but it produced the best tasting, closest to "delivered" pizza that we have made on the Presto Pizzazz. It also gives us the ability to "have it our way" when it comes to sauce and toppings, while still having a quick, easy to make and easy to clean up meal.
Bottom line: I'd recommend this affordable little appliance to any one who loves pizza and would like a convenient and fun way to cook frozen or homemade pizzas.

I bought the Pizzazz Pizza Oven because a friend of mine, that just got married, was raving about it. Because of her high recommendation, and because I was never happy with how my frozen pizzas turned out when cooked in a conventional oven, I decided to give it a try. I have to say that this is one of my favorite purchases ever. I only wish that someone had told me about it years ago. I am now able to cook my pizza exactly the way that I like it. My crust no longer gets over-cooked and dried out and the cheese on my pizza always gets cooked until it is that golden-brown color. My kids also love it. I purchased it for 39.95 on Amazon. I am going to buy one as a gift. I just checked and Amazon's price went up to 48.56. Wal-Mart's price just went down to 34.95. What's up with that Amazon?

I received one of these for Christmas a year ago, and although I never would've thought to buy one for myself, I'm soo glad I got it.
First of all, you can do so much more than pizzas on it. French fries, tator tots, I've even made a pig in a blanket on that thing.
Ever had some leftover fries or chicken strips from a restaurant? Try to heat them up in the microwave and they get all soggy, right? Just throw them on this thing and you'll think they came right from the restaurant!
The best thing about this is that it's virtually impossible to burn your pizza. Set it to a certain time, 15 mins, and it'll shut itself off automatically. If it still needs a few minutes, just add a few when you check on it. I'm constantly forgetting pizzas and things in the oven so this is perfect for me.
The only small problems I have are:
1: the timer bell needs to be louder, I don't think mine makes any noise when its done.
2: the cooking pan will only look like the picture once, when it comes out of the box. The teflon coating starts to scratch pretty easy and the pan itself is hard to clean with all the little indents. That being said, I still haven't had any problems with things sticking to it.
Overall, a GREAT product, I probably use this more than I use my oven!

At first, I thought how useful could this be, and then I started keeping track of how many pizzas i actually ate, and it has been very useful. This is my second model, I used my original about 200 times and it finally wore out. this one is over a hundred strong. Works great for regular frozen pizza, with adjustment to cook on with top (for toppings or rewarm,bottom (for thicker and crispier crust), and both for standard pizza cooking. A huge suprise was how well it does with many of the self rising pizzas, and it may be me, but it tastes better because I think it cooks better. And finally, in the summer, you don't have to fire up the big oven to cook a quick meal. A must have for any family, or a single guy like me.

The pizza tastes much better than oven baked and it's nice to not have to heat up the whole oven for one pizza. That said there are a few flaws. #1 I just bought my 2nd one. My first one lasted just 22 months. The bottom heating element apparently burned out. Unfortunately there's no way for you to know when it's broken. The turntable still turns and the top element still cooks so you don't know it's broken until you take the pizza off. #2 the new ones (they are black, the original ones were white) isn't quite as sturdy as the original. The turntable is wobbly and it doesn't seem to cook as fast as the old one. #3 The turntable is impossible to clean. I spray mine with non-stick spray and that works really well. It would be helpful if they told you to do that in the instructions. In stead they offer to sell you a new turntable for $20.
All in all I really like the oven but if it doesn't last much longer this time I won't buy another.

Quite a nice addition to the kitchen! This oven cooks frozen pizzas quickly and evenly. The only complaint I have is that it's a touch too small for some of the larger pizzas out there now (family size). But other than that, I highly recommend this oven!

I was pretty excited to get this item. I never had any success with my oven and frozen pizza. I never could get the middle cooked and many reviews said the Pizzazz would do this.
Pros:
- Creates a crisp bottom crust
- Center of pizza and toppings cook better than with an oven
- Doesn't heat up the house
- Cleanup is a breeze
Cons:
- The outside crust is more breadlike (could be a pro for some)
- Turntable on mine seems slanted and crooked
- Doesn't perform miracles. Some reviewers imply that the Pizzazz transforms frozen pizza into real pizza. It improves frozen pizza, but you won't forget that you're eating frozen pizza.
- Rising dough frozen pizza works, but the dough itself doesn't seem to bake fully. It tends to taste doughy even when the bottom and top are done.
- 12" is too small considering the better tasting 16" fresh dough pizzas available now
I like this gadget, but I can't give it five stars. Presto created a pretty cool kitchen appliance here, but I think they could improve it. They should make a XL 16" model that would accomodate "Costco" take and bake. I think the heating elements could be designed better to improve coverage as well.
As far as frozen pizza goes, Freschetta baked better than Di Giorno for me. Tombstone tasted like Tombstone. Frozen is what it is. There's UNO in my local deli case and I plan on trying that.
I think the Pizzazz is worth it overall. I don't regret the purchase in any way, and I don't use my oven for pizza anymore.

lower heat only and dual heating above and below I have obtained
the crispier than normal pizza I love. The only reason I didn't
give it the extra star rating, is 2 really not that important cons.
It takes a little pratice to properly align the pan on the machine
and it has no on/off switch other than the plug itself. Minor

I found that if you want the pizza to be a little browner and the crust a little crispier, than I set the timer for 5 extra minutes. I like the fact my home does not heat up in the summer to make a pizza and even in the colder months you still must preheat your oven before baking the pizza. This does a great job of cooking evenly. I have recommended this product to several others.

I have owned my pizzazz for over 3 years now. Perfect to make pizza without heating the whole house by lighting the oven. Easy to keep clean. When the pizza is done, I remove the rotating platter immediately. This way it won't get burned by the red hot elements. I would highly suggest this product.

Just saw this on sale for under $50 with free shipping. If you prepare frozen pizza, this is a great appliance. Three suggestions on use: 1)brush a little olive oil on the pan, 2)start the pizza with only the top element on for 5-6 minutes, 3) add whatever additional toppings you are using and finish with both elements on (usually 12-15 minutes. I realize one other review recomends starting with the bottom element first, but when I tried this the crust ended up dry and crunchy, rather than the way I like it: crisp on the bottom and a little bit "bread-like" on the inside.
I normally add a few chopped olives, or onions or mushrooms and a little extra motzeralla to the pizza as indicated above, and take the Pizza off when the cheese bubbles and is lightly browned.
I find that most gadgets just end up at the good-will, but with a little experimentation I belive anyone who uses this will find they can prepare a frozen pizza that is much more satisfactory than using other methods. I think I paid almost twice the current price for mine about a year ago, and would buy one again at the same price without hesitation. At $50, a great bargain.
I will say I prefer scratch made Pizza baked in the oven on my Pizza stone but of course the time, effort and mess of scratch Pizza makes it a rare event.
Finally, I don't know about damage to the finish on the pan, etc. All I do with mine is wash the pan off under a running hot water tap with a soapy sponge, rinse and wipe dry. The base is just wiped off with a damp cloth. I have had no problems. I don't know what a dishwasher would do to the pan, but I suspect the non-stick surface would suffer. By adding a little olive oil as I (and others) have suggested, you will find that clean up is a breeze. I have noticed a kind of "baked on" film arround the upper heating element, pretty much the kind of thing that happens arround a open broiler element in an electric oven. Nothing gross really, but I think trying to keep this one area pristine would be a lot of work.

Buy this, you won't be sorry. I hesitated for a long time because I've bought so many small appliances that turned out to be more trouble than they were worth, or didn't work as advertised. Not this one. I only have one "bad" thing to say about owning this Pizza Oven -- I've eaten way too much pizza since I bought it! Not only does it do a superb job of cooking pizza to perfection, but the pizza looks beautiful, much nicer and more appetizing than an oven pizza. And, wow, it's so fast, no preheating, and just wipe it clean. And you can make a pizza on the hottest day of the year without heating up your house.
The manual recommends not using it to warm up leftovers as they say it can eventually harm the pan finish, but I've been doing it because warmed over pizza turns out perfect as well. I have seen no sign of damage after many uses, but if it eventually affects the pan, I'll just buy another one because I can't live without it.
As for complaints about the size being too small, I do occasionally buy one particular brand of very large size square pizza when it is on sale, and I just snip two corners off before baking, so no big deal. Otherwise, when I have company, I just buy two or more smaller pizzas with different toppings and bake one after another. It cooks my favorite brand in 12 minutes, so as we are finishing the first one, the second one is done, and everyone enjoys the variety and anticipating "what's up next."

I didn't believe it until I tried it -- this oven makes great pizza. One negative is that the instruction book that comes with the unit is really sorry. It has only one recipe, and it's not even for home made dough. Fortunately, we have great sites like allrecipes.com to help in that way. The Presto Pizza Oven also does heat up the kitchen, which is a concern here in Texas with the high electric bills this summer. We are thinking of using it on the patio. I'd also suggest going on the Presto website and buying a second baking pan so that a second pizza can be baked without letting the first pan cool. Overall, a great product that I heartily recommend.

There is no other way to cook a pizza perfect unless you own your own pizza place. So easy and fast to cook the pizza, you are eating within minutes. Clean up is so easy because the tray comes off and it is non stick so there is no scrubing or anything. This little gadget is just great. We just got it in the mail, and have already made 2 frozen pizzas and 3 quesadillas. It was quick, easy, and vitually no clean up at all! The kids had fun watching, and even my 9 year old is able to use this herself (adult supervision is a good idea if it's used by kids because it get really hot really fast!) It works just as easily as it is advertised to work.
Our little Totino's frozen pizzas took about 13 minutes to be perfectly heated, and the quesadillas (from fresh tortillas and grated cheese) took 7 minutes each. No preheating like with the oven, and the whole house doesn't get hot like with the oven.
This is a product that I can wholeheartedly recommend. And it's a good value at Amazon's price too!

delivery or take-out. We have our favorite brand, which happens
to be DiGiorno Stuffed Crust at present. Anyway, we were used to
getting poor results with our regular oven. Burned around the
outside edge and uncooked and soggy centers. We've tried using a
metal ring to protect the edges, with limited success. When we
bought this cooker it was amazing. It cooks the bottom and top,
outside edge and center as well. We had read other reviews about
not trying to cut the finished pizza on the turntable, so we slid
the pizza off onto a cookie sheet and cut it there. By the way,
no sticking on the turntable. No boilover of the cheese. The
kitchen doesn't get overly hot as it does with our regular oven.
We're very pleased with this item.

We received the Pizzazz Pizza Oven as a gift. It really does make great pizza. I have only used it for frozen pizza, and for making cheese crisps. It does both nicely. It's not any faster than a regular oven, in fact, it seems to take a bit longer, but that is not a drawback. However, my kitchen doesn't get heated up and it makes a much nicer crust. It's easy to clean too. I recommend it.

I've had my Pizzazz since Christmas 2004, and I'm still using it at least once a week. The machine works really well, and it's nice to not have to wait for an oven to heat up. I wouldn't really say that it drastically cuts down on the pizza cooking time itself, but not having to wait for the oven is great.
I also use my Pizzazz for more than just pizza! It does a good job (once you figure out the right combination of cook settings) cooking things like french fries, chicken tenders, and mozzarella sticks. (I'm sure you could cook other things on it if you were in a pinch.) This is nice for people who might not have access to a real oven.
My only warnings: The pan can be difficult to keep clean unless you're diligent. It also gets very hot, so be careful if there are curious pets (or kids) around. Since the pan gets so hot (and to prevent scratching it), I would also recommend having a separate cutting sheet for the pizza.

This is one kitchen gadget that works. It makes pretty good pizza from fresh ingredients in less than 15 minutes and does not heat up the whole house in doing so. It has top, bottom or both heat settings to use if one likes the top or bottom of their pizza a little more or less done. The appliance is simple in design and easy to use and clean. Non-stick surfaces are delicate but I see no difference in this and a Teflon coated skillet. The caveat is use only plastic utensils. For the money, the Pizzazz is a good deal; especially considering in my experience 4 out of 5 kitchen gadgets don't work or are more trouble to use than doing something the way I've always done it. Got boxes of them to prove it, too. This device is the exception, is a welcome addition to any kitchen and will make a tasty pizza faster than calling for take out or delivery.

As a lover of gadgets and all things kitchen, I welcomed the Pizzaz pizza oven to my ever growing collection of kitchen gadgets. Not only has it quickly become a favorite, but is among my most-used. I am a college student and live with 5 other guys. No other appliance in the house gets used more then the pizzazz. We use it to cook chicken nuggets, cookies, sandwiches, hashbrowns, bacon, trout, and of course Pizza! tons of other things on it. It really cooks everything! It all tastes good on it too. I love gadgets but am always disappointed when I get them. I bought this on a whim for my husband who can't ever get enough pizza. I was so sick of eating cheap frozen pizzas that I had started making them from scratch - they're good, but take forever and flour the entire kitchen. I really just expected this to heat a pizza, saving me from having to heat up the oven, but instead ended up with something amazing. It doesn't make any difference what kind of pizza you put on this thing -- they're all great! My homemade pizzas now taste like gourmet and I can even stomach the frozen ones. But the best thing is that he loves to use it, so he has started making dinner at least once a week. It's sturdy, has a manageable size since the pan comes off, and is easy to clean (despite some others comments). Nor have I had any trouble with the surface on the pan. It's a simple wipe with a soapy sponge and a rinse. I've only had it for a couple of months, but if it broke tomorrow, I'd buy another before the end of the week.

I didnt have much hope for it but all in all I am please with it. I t will save tons of time on cooking and even cooks pizza's alot better than my ancient oven. I bought this on a whim, but it really works great. First tried a garden variety thin crust cheese pizza (store brand) - went from frozen to cooked in 15 minutes, and the cheese was perfectly melted and browned. I even think it looked better than if I had cooked it in the regular oven - the heating element is closer to the pizza. Been trying all sorts of other frozen pizzas and have been happy with the results. Clean up is surprising easy. So far all I've had to do is rinse and dry the tray and it's ready to go again. Next I'm going to start building some of my own, using those premade pizza crusts I've seen.

it doesn`t look like much but it is the best pizza maker whether frozen from a box or made fresh .Marvelous.I threw a frozen one on the rotating plate (picture) cut up fresh muchrooms and sliced red bell peper with extra cheeze and stood for 17 min transfixed.In the begining you don`t really beleive it is capable of the final result but slowly as it turns it is almost like magic;a before and after masterpiece.Storage easy , ergomomics good (not for children but responsible older kids should have no problem.)If you put alot of stuff on it its best to watch it but if not you can step away. The problem with frozen pizza is that it takes too much preparation to make a "quick" pizza. Particularly in the summer time. No more. This little machine cures the problem of preheating the oven and cleaning up cheeze dripping onto the oven bottom. I like crispy crusts so I have always had to watch closely to be sure the crust doesn't burn. Then I have had to pop it in the broiler in the bottom of the oven to be sure the topping is nicely browned.
With the Presto, I can have my frozen pizza on the table in less than 20 minutes without a hot kitchen. Crispy crust and bubbling cheeze perfect.
The only problem, which cost it one star is that the very center is a bit less done than the rest of the pizza.
Also, someone else commented that you have to unplug the unit to stop it from turning after it turns off. No so. Just lift the pan off and the rotator stops since it is triggered by the pan to rotate. So you can leave the machine plugged in as long as you remove the pizza pan from the unit when done (don't forget the oven mitts because the pan is HOT).

I got this for my mom for her birthday because she loves making her own pizzas from scratch. Tonight we had a Pizzaria Uno deep dish. I wasn't sure if the pizza oven could handle a thick pizza like that, but it cooked very evenly all the way through. So far, we have made a bunch of different kinds of pizzas from homemade to fresh to frozen, all different sizes and thicknesses. The pizzas all come out so much better with this oven. It is easy to set up as it is only 2 pieces and stores quite nicely in a cabinet.

I just got this for my birthday from my mom, i love this thing....ive already eaten 3 differnt kinds of pizza made with this thing and they have all tasted better then my mastery of oven cooking. After cooking 5 frozen pizza shells overflowing with my veggie toppings, I must say this is an excellent product.... not only for the perfect cooking and taste of the pizza, but for the electricity it saves over heating my big oven. Following the directions for cooking (15 mins and 4 extra for extra toppings on top heat only) produces perfection. I could not believe the difference in taste after years of making the same pizza in my big oven with a pizza stone. It cooks faster as well. Highly recommended. And, by the way, I ignored the warning about using aluminum foil since I was careful to make the piece only as large as the top of the turntable with nothing wrapped underneath. Not only does it save cleaning the turntable, but the foil has now been used six times and it is still clean.

This is a great gadget, and even though it takes just about as long as if I used my oven, it's still better than waiting for preheat, My main grudge is that no matter how long I could the top, the sides of the crust, especially rising crust never get done, I've tried regular crust, digorno rising crust, tombstone rising crust, freshcetta rising crust, and thought the top of the crust gets browned, the sides of the crust always stay a light whitish color, and never get that crispy feel. I wish I could say I was the only one who had this problem, but I've read other reviews that have the same problem. I highly recommend this pizza cooker. It doesn't cook the pizza any faster than if you were to cook it in the oven, you save time and money because you don't have to wait for the oven to warm up.
With the pizza cooking on the bottom, then on bottom and top, gives the pizza a wonderful consistancy throughout.
You do have to watch that it does not over cook the sides while waiting for the center to get done. I have cooked both thin crust and thick self rising pizza and they were great.

The unit does a fairly good job of heating frozen round pizzas;however, the square 12-13inch square pizzas cause the turntable to wobble and turn erratically. You must reposition the pizza so that the turntable rotates smoothly. I like the idea of being able to heat either the top or bottom separately. It makes great extra crispy crust.

I initially bought one of these because we eat a lot of pizza and I had heard good things about the oven. It more than met my expectations! It bakes frozen pizza so tasty that we have stopped ordering out. We enjoy cooking pig in the blankets on this cooker too. Everything turns out evenly cooked and delicious. The tray is very easy to clean. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because there is no "off" switch. It has a switch which allows you to cook using the upper, lower or both "burners". (I recommend using the dual setting for everything!) It also has a timer but the tray continues to rotate even after the timer goes off so you must unplug the product to get it to completely turn off. The pros out weigh the cons by far. I liked this item so well that I ordered two more through Amazon for my grown daughters and they love them! This is one of the few small kitchen appliances that you actually will use as often as you store!

My family loves the Pizza Oven. When we got our first one there were four teenage girls in the house and the oven ran constantly. What was nice about it was that the girls could have their pizza the way they liked it---its a lot easier to watch the progress of cooking than if you bake your pizza in a conventional oven. Our conventional oven has hot spots in it, and if you didn't turn the pizza a half turn midway through, one half would be burned to a crisp and the other side just warm. Plus our conventional oven would heat up the whole kitchen, making it almost unbearable till all four pizzas got cooked. And my pet peeve was that none of the girls would EVER think to turn off the oven when they were done.
We wore the first one out and have had our second one now for a couple of months. It's working great. We only have one girl left at home so this one doesn't get as much of a workout and it will probably last forever. This is a great product for kids to get themselves a tasty snack or meal. When my boys have friends over, they'll grab a frozen pizza out of the freezer and cook it up on the pizzazz, It cooks frozen pizza perfectly, better than any oven. We have found the pan cleans up beautifully in the dishwasher and if you use a silicon spatula and don't cut the pizza directly on the pan, there's no scratching. Just use the same cautions you would on any non-stick cookware. We love it and I plan to buy these as Christmas gifts for my siblings families.

Our family has been using one of these to cook frozen pizzas at home for at least a year or two now, and we love it. It is fast and it does a great job, just like it's suppose to.
I'm about to buy another one to keep on our sailboat so we can cook pizza while we're tied up to the dock (and on shore power). The unit is small to begin with and it disassembles into two parts (the heating unit and the pan), so it should be easy to store in the limited space we have. It should also keep the cabin a lot cooler than an oven would (if we even had an oven on board).
If they were less expensive I'd buy a third one to use at my office. When I bought my original one I thought I only paid about $40-$45.

I just purchased a Presto Pizzazz Pizza "oven" because my regular oven isn't working. So rather than do the logical thing and get my oven fixed I decided to buy even more gadgetry for my home.
I love my pizza and my pizza loves me - so I was anxious to try the Pizzazz. The Pizzazz claims to cook Pizza from start to finish in less time than it takes for most conventional ovens to pre-heat. I decided to see how true this claim really is so I brought out my Pizzazz and cooked away. I cooked a frozen regular crust Tombstone Pizza in 17 minutes from start to finish. That isn't bad considering it use to take my working oven over 12 to 15 minutes to pre-heat! Now that it doesn't work correctly it takes about 2 hours to reach 400 degrees and it sometimes smokes.
I have cooked two pizzas on the machine so far. The pizza cooking quality is great. It browns the cheese and crisp the crust perfectly. I would recommend this product to anyone who is a big pizza eater like me. I don't like the name though, it's a bit stupid. I would change the name to the Presto Pizza Producer X (aka PPPX).
This is just an initial report; I plan to write a follow-up later. I may change my mind when I cook a pizza made from scratch or a rising dough pizza or if it burns my house down. It says not to cook anything but Pizza on the machine due to fire risk. I plan to cook fish sticks on the Pizzazz this coming week.

This thing is great!
It makes delicious pizza, right before one's eyes, in a time that compares favorably with use of an oven. And cleanup is easy.
There are three small things I need to knock it for:
The first is my own problem, which I am sure I can handle. So far, I have not been able to get extremely crispy crusts from it, no matter how thin I've made the dough. I'll just keep playing with the settings, something the instructions encourage.
The second is that the pan can only make pizzas 12 inches and smaller. For a family, this is not big enough, so I have to make multiple pizzas for one meal. It's too bad the Presto engineers couldn't have figured out a way to make a larger pan, maybe 15-18 inches in size.
The third is that the pan's spindle protrudes beneath its base. I can't believe the engineers designed it like this. Had the spindle been shorter (or the base higher), it would have been a lot easier to put the pan on a flat counter and prepare the pizza on it. My workaround is to put the pan on the corner of my sink when pinching the crust and applying the toppings. Gets the job done, but awkwardly. A better pan design, or a stand for the pan, would be a massive improvement.
The pizza this thing makes is delicious. I have been making homemade pizza for 20 years, using cookie sheets, metal and glass pans, and pizza stones, and this product yields the best-tasting results I've ever gotten. It's incredibly fun, even for adults, to smell and watch as the raw pizza cooks before your eyes!
Anyone buying this for themselves will be delighted. Anyone buying this for a gift will receive a big thank you once it's used. I hope that the brains at Presto will resolve the two design issues mentioned above. Doing so would easily elevate this product to five stars in my book.

We received this "oven" for christmas, and I was like "oh come on". But I tried it and I loved it! I noticed that if I wanted to cook a larger pizza it wouldn't be possible. But we only cook the frozen 12'ers. Some have said that since you can't cut the pizza right there on the baking pan, you gotta dirty another pan. While this is true, there is a reason it's like that. Cutting the pizza on the baking pan would scratch the non stick coating (which is so easy to clean off with a clean towel!). Anywho, there is no need to use another pan to cut if you are just cooking a frozen one... just use the cardboard backing for the pizza, and hey you can keep one for if you ever make one from scratch. Works like a charm. I LOVE IT!

I received this for Christmas and have tried it out using both regular and rising crust frozen pizzas. It does save time but the results aren't like those that you get from an oven. For one thing the pizza is never done at the end of the recommended cooking time. I always have to add on 4 or 5 minutes. Also, the outer rim of the crust doesn't get crispy like it does in a regular oven. The bottom of the crust cooks okay but the edge of the crust really doesn't get any heat. I baked a Digiorno rising crust pizza on it for the maximum time and the outer edge of the crust was still white. Yes, I followed the instructions on the proper way to cook a rising crust pizza. If you don't like a crunchy crust then this won't be a problem. I would recommend this product for a college student living away from home or for anyone who eats a lot of pizza and doesn't want to heat up their kitchen with a big oven. For the occasional pizza eater though, you might want to pass on this one.
New info: I discovered that if you place the cooked pizza on a cooling rack that's covered with a paper towel the pizza won't get soft and will remain crispy. Before I would just slide the pizza on to the cardboard it came with but that didn't allow any of the the steam from the crust to escape and the crust would become soft. By placing the cooked pizza on a paper towel on a cooling rack that allows the towel to absorb the steam and the rack allows air circulation around the pizza crust. Here are the settings I've been using. On a standard Tombstone pizza I set the control on Lower and set the timer between 17 and 18 minutes. After about 2 minutes I switch the control to Dual. I've found in most cases that the crust always takes longer to cook than the toppings so I start cooking the crust first and then switch to the Dual setting after a few minutes. For a homemade pizza made with raw dough I set the control on Lower and set the timer for 20 minutes. When I switch the control to Dual depends on how many toppings I have on the pizza. If I have just cheese then I wait 10 minutes before switching the control to Dual because the cheese only takes about 10 minutes to melt and start to brown. With more toppings I slide the control to Dual after maybe 5 to 8 minutes.

I have lots of kitchen "extras"... most end up in the back of the cupboards, unused and unloved. The Pizzazz cooker is the exception to the rule! Fast, easy, no clean-up! To save time, I used to nuke frozen pizzas. I'd get wimpy, soggy crusts, at best! The oven was the old-fashioned time-consuming alternative. The Pizzazz is somewhere in-between... but wonderfully so! A little slower than microwaving, but much faster than conventional oven cooking (no pre-heating, too). And it ends up perfectly cooked! My teenage son is now a pizza cooking wizard and no longer has any excuse to drag me into the kitchen to help! Bwahahahaha! Truly -- if you include frozen pizzas in your grocery shopping, invest in the Pizzazz. You'll find yourself buying frozen pizza more often.

For all those who gave a bad review; must have not used it correctly. did you plug the unit in and turn on dual. because this product is awesome. i must admit when i first saw it, when my husband brought this in the house, i was like junk. we heated up pizzas, french fries, beef patties and more in minutes. first for a regular oven you would have to preheat and wait for cooking. not for this, 16 minutes in total and it is really cooked with four minutes remaining, I just like it a little dark. my husband likes it in 12 minutes. excellent product. excellent, you won't be dissappointed. Right now I am eating some fries from the pizzazz, and it is great.

My family uses our Presto Pizzazz Pizza Oven on a daily basis for much more than pizza. We toast our hot ham-n-cheese sandwiches, toast garlic bread, make grilled cheese, cook almost anything you would normally deep fry, such as cheese sticks, hot wings, ect. It cleans easily and I can allow my children to use it without worry or the stove being turned on. We got this for Christmas, and we have all but worn the poor thing out. Yet, after all our abuse, and heavy use, it still is going strong.
This is the perfect thing for pizza lovers! We love not having to wait for the oven to heat up, and to be able to cook a pizza in about 12 mins is great when you are busy. This even works well with the DiGornos, and other rising crust pizzas that never really cook all the way in the oven.
We hope that we will get another one when ours does finally kick the bucket, but it's been 2 years so far, and we haven't had to replace or repair it. This is high quality. Just be careful when you clean the tray, don't use anything abrasive or you will peel off the non-stick part, but this is something most of you already know from working with Teflon pots and pans.

I absolutely love my Pizazz! My husband and I, a two person military family, had just moved to our new apartment and received the Pizazz as a wedding gift. We eat alot of things that could be microwaved..but have no microwave. We have used our Pizazz to cook so many things! from Pizza's frozen and handmade, tater tots, pizza rolls,frozen frenchfries, grilled cheese sandwiches. I hate to be the voice of dissent when this product has recieved so many glowing reviews, but I would like to point out something I see as a design flaw in this little pizza cooker.
I bought one for my family for Christmas as I thought it would be a great solution to having to wait for back to back pizzas to cook in the big oven to feed our large family. But what I didn't notice was that the pizza oven only cooks pies up to 12" - much smaller than the "family-size" take & bake or homemade pizzas we usually cook.
But, determined to use the machine, I trimed the edges of a fresh, plain crust to fit the tray for the oven and put on my own sauce and toppings. We followed the directions for fresh pizza on the oven, but it took several rounds for it to actually be done. Also, we were never able to get the edges browned.
On the plus side, the crust underneath the pizza was nice and crispy, just the way we like it. And the toppings were bubbling away to perfection.
I think the size of the pies it will cook is something to consider if you have a large famiy and need to cook large pizzas.
If we continue to use the Pizzaz, we will have to cook 3 pizzas rather than just 2.

I received my Pizzazz for Christmas. I like to cook DiGiorno's frozen pizza. I followed the directions for the Pizzazz but found that 15 minutes was far from enough to have it be done. It took nearly 20 minutes for it to be done.
Compared to just using my regular oven, I like the pizza cooked in my oven. I thought the Pizzazz would be just as advertised but instead I found the inside of the pizza to be pretty chewy vs. crunchy with my oven.
I'd save yourself the ~$60 and just have to wait a few extra minutes for your regular oven to preheat. And, you don't have an extra appliance to store. My two cents.

My oven is on the fritz, meaning come Spring I will likely buy a new stove. I could get an element, but the bloody things costs a fortune to replace - IF you can find them. No big sweat, I rarely use the over for anything - BUT Pizza. Gotta have Pizza!! So what to do until I decide on the stove I want?? This is the perfect solution, and frankly, may never use the oven again for Pizza!
This is much better than the oven. We always were getting poor results, too done on the edges, while the middle was not done enough. Or one side cooked too much because you did not turn the pizza quick enough to prevent it.
This makes the perfect pizza, whether already prepared, frozen on make your own and in about half the time.
The only problem I see with this product - we might wear it out!!

As a single man who eats 2-3 frozen pizzas a week, this was a better purchase than my microwave. Frozen pizzas cook in 15 minutes or less, as compared to 20-23 minutes with a conventional oven. When you wait until the last minute to start cooking, 5 minutes is a long time. Additionally it cooks the pizza perfectly evenly. There are also controls that let you choose between crisp, normal, and light crusts.

Get out 2 pizzas, heat oven for first one. Put 2nd pizza on Pizzazz, plug in, heat according to package directions. Come back in 13 to 15 minutes to check pizza and oven, time for most regular crust pizzas. Pizza on Pizzazz is more than likely finished,oven is probably about heated up. EASY!
The Pizzazz Pizza Oven bakes and crisps your pizza evenly, you can even customize how the crust or topping is cooked. If you want an extra crispy crust, just turn leave thebottom element on for a little longer, same goes for if you want your topping extra cooked. If you want a softer crust, turn the bottom element off towards the last few miniutes of baking.There are also no over/undercooked parts of your pizza, as is often the case when you use the oven method. It is also so much faster and therefore quicker to use the Pizzazz.
The office has a huge (120 plus) New Years party every year, expecting over 150 this year, and like to have pizza serves along with all the other goodies. So the oven was on for several hours, heatong up the kitchen and the counter space was taken with hot pans. I reccommended this to my Broker and now it is used quite often. The oven is now free for use as a big warmer and the counter is open to hold plates and drinks and to congrate at.
The only thing I do not like about this product is the size of teh baking pan, which must obviously be big to fit the pizza. Otherwise, this is a great and wonderful product that will be used often.

My in-laws gave us one of these as a gift. I thought it was a joke. Then we used it. The Pizzazz consistently cooks frozen pizzas well.
The nonstick disk is simple to clean. I don't understand how anyone would scratch it, unless he's using steel wool or something to clean it. And that is hardly necessary: it washes clean with a bit of soap and water (or even just a clean towel).
Even with rising crust pizzas, we have never had the food come anywhere near the heating element.
My only complaint is that you cannot accelerate the timer. You can adjust it to add time, but once it's set, you have to wait for it to run down. This is a minor inconvenience, though I would like to be able to turn off the heating elements when the pizza is done rather than take the pizza off the disk and wait for the "ding" at the end of the cooking cycle. (You could unplug the machine, but the residual heat from the elements might cook the disk, which obviously stops rotating when you unplug the machine. The elements stay hot for a little while after the cycle ends.)
All in all, this is a surprisingly effective product.

This is the only Pizza oven I have tried and as of yet we only
cook frozen pizza's, that being said...It cooks them better then
the oven or my convection oven. The top gets melted and if not, I can melt it after the cooking with out cooking the crust anymore. or I can finish the chrust with out cooking the cheese anymore, if I want a more crisp crust. The reason it did not get a 5 from me is I like to not put heat in my kit. in the summer, I tend to like the ho use at 73 then. I do a lot of cooking with a crock pot to keep the heat down. This lets the heat out so I may need something differnt in the summer. It did my french crust pizza the best I have ever had it. The prices have droped since it came out a few years ago, that makes it even better.

First of all it's not perfect. The non-stick coating is thin on the pan, and can get scratched off easy. Plus, there's no easy way to clean off the brown, spots you get from baking. All that aside, this is a great device if you like homemade, and frozen varieties of pizza.
I used to try all kinds of tricks to get a frozen pizza to taste good. I'd microwave them partially first, I'd bake them directly on the oven rack; I'd try greasing the pan, or not greasing it. I had some success with these techniques, but it was a lot of work. This oven does the job, and gets the pizza cooked the way you want it. An easy flip switch on the top, can turn the heat on both sides, just the top, or just the bottom. You control the crispness, and the degree of browning on your pizza.
This oven is also great for baking those commercial, "take and bake" pizzas, from shops like Pappa Murphy's. Further, its better for reheating leftover pizzeria pizza than your microwave. What more can you want? I wanted just one thing, a 14" model. While most frozen pizza is 12" or smaller, you cannot heat one any larger. One final caution, rising crust pizzas will sometimes bubble, or rise into the top-heating element. It's a good idea to stay in the general area while the pizza is cooking, or it can potentially start a fire.

After years of being frustrated trying to bake pizzas in an electric oven, I finally was able to purchase the Presto Pizzazz Pizza Maker here at Amazon.com. IT IS THE BEST! Every pizza turns out perfect EVERY TIME! Even rising crust pizzas turn out great.
I love that it is on a timer. I recently almost burned my house down when the power went out and I left a burner on the stove on. I left the house and when the power came back on it burned a hole through my T-Fal pot that was on the stove and came very close to burning the whole house down. My Pizzazz Pizza Maker is safe because the heating element is on a timer. Thank goodness for that because I am very forgetful. Sometimes I cook a pizza and find it hours later spinning on the pizza maker.....not burned, just rotating away! I just zap it in the microwave and it's delicious!
The pizza maker has top, bottom, and dual heating options. So you can customize how your pizza gets cooked, for example, making the crust crispier or the toppings more browned. Pizza has never tasted better! I love this pizza maker and if I ever wear it out I will buy another one pronto!

I got the Pizzazz pizza maker originally to cook frozen pizza bought at the grocery store. It did the job admirably, saving me the need to heat up the entire oven.
Now I have moved on the making my own dough with a Breadmaker, and using the Pizzazz pizza maker to cook it. The resulting pizza is better tasting than any of the delivery pizzas! I use a breadmaker for the dough, then lay the dough on the pizzazz tray, and put Pizza sauce on it (bought at Ralph), mushrooms, Pizza seasoning, Mozzarella and whatever else strikes my fancy. This pizza oven makes perfect pizza every time. Personally, i do not like most pizza. I refuse to eat most delivery pizza because i do not like the flavor, but this thing makes home cooked pizzas amazing. While the Pizzazz made a good pizza, it didn't do any better - and only slighly faster - than my oven and was more inconvenient. You can't cut the pizza on the pan/sheet that you cook it in, so now you have 2 pans to wash instead of 1. You can only make one pizza at a time - a problem if you are doing frozen pizzas and have one person yelping for plain cheese pizza and the other for pepperoni.
It just takes up extra space in my cupboard.
