This toaster does everything is should and very well. It toasts evenly and I enjoy the bagel function which will allow it to only toast one side. The controls are intuitive and simple, which to me is appropriate since it is after all just a toaster.

The design is clean and attractive, which was important to me because there are a lot of ugly ones out there. Although the cool-touch exterior was not a selling point for me, I can confirm that it indeed does not get hot on the outside. Lastly, I was surprised and pleased to find that it has a grounded plug.

Looks great, perfect toast every time. Really nice feature that toasts the proper (cut) side of a bagel. Would not hesitate to recommend!

I have been very pleased to move up to this high-quality toaster. I replaced my old toaster after a kitchen remodeling, and the red color is just right. The design is attractive, it is made entirely of steel (not plastic) and it looks substantial. Overall, an asset to my decor and a fine toaster.

I have tried them all, good brands, brand x, expensive, cheap. For nearly 30 years, I have been unhappy with every toaster I have tried until this one. What could one reasonable expect from a toaster? That it browns evenly on both sides of the toast without flipping mid-cycle? That bagels fit? That it stays cool? Well, this one delivers the most basic of my requirements. It is large and solid, but I would build a room for it, if necessary. You can't go wrong with this one.

I love KitchenAid products. Our family of 5 needed a new 4 slice toaster. I didn't want one that would break in a year or never toast evenly. So we decided to pay a little more and get the real thing. We did. I love it. It does what it's supposed to do each and every time, and it looks great in the bargain.

I'm not usually the type to write reviews. I'm a guy and toasters aren't something that really matter to me so much. Except that my wife and I just bought a house and I wanted to have the best appliances in it. I research EVERYTHING, the TV, the lawn mower and everything. We went with this toaster because of the reviews from this site and many others. I bought here at Amazon and it really is an awesome toaster. It is well worth the money. It's very decorative and makes even toast FAST. The otaster is self centering, so you don't have to worry about uneven toast. AND It's fast so you don't have to lets your eggs get cold while you wait for an extra piece of bread to toast up. If your doing research...This is the one! Get it, you won't regret it.

Review: GREAT TOAST!

This toaster does a perfect job at it's unique requirement-to make great toast. The wide range on the light to dark dials (1-9) gets it just right for everyone. It has been nice to move up from a two-slot to four-slot with the addition of kids and not spend all of breakfast processing bread through the toaster. The bagel feature really works. It looks very handsome on the counter, but it is large - as large as some small toaster ovens, so measure first. The only thing that hasn't fit well are long slices from a round of sourdough, I just cut them in half and it was fine. It has been so nice to have toast that is perfectly done on the entire surface of both sides of the bread!!

I am upgrading from a 2-slice toaster to a 4-slice toaster. I wanted one with a bagel setting and separate controls for each pair of slots. I read a lot of reviews and was appalled to see how many toasters fail to accomplish even their basic mission. The KitchenAid KMTT400SS does just that. It produces even browning, although I use 7 out of 9 on the rotary dials to produce the best results. The bagel setting does a beautiful job, browning the open face and warming the backside. This toaster also has a warming setting (but no warming rack). But I found that it left breads too dry.

The only other quibble I have, which prevents me from giving it 5 stars, is that its dimensions are larger than advertised. With the controls on the front side and the crumb trays on the back, it extends 0.5-1 inch deeper than its nominal dimensions, precluding me from storing it in the appliance garage with the bread maker. But it's attractive enough to sit out on the counter.

We like the results of the toasting from this unit, but it is huge! Get ready to give up some serious counter space when you drop this bad boy in there!

This toaster is all and more than described. We make our own whole grain breads and it was always a problem to get the dense breads browned without burning. This toaster's settings allow the bread to brown perfectly! The bagel setting is a dream as well. Looking forward to many years of use.

I always thought a toaster is a toaster. However, this toaster is solid. It makes perfect toast every time. The one thing I like about it is that it does not have a dip in the top where bread crumbs can collect. My last toaster had that and it was hard to clean. This one cleans in a snap. I have bought all new Kitchen Aid products for my kitchen and I am happy so far with all of them.

After spending a week reading reviews and looking at toasters. I decided on the KithcenAid KMTT400SS. The reasons for my decision;

1 Top brand name. (We own a Kithchen Aid Table Mixer and Dishwasher)
2 Very good reviews.
3 Quality you can see and feel. Fit, finish and materials are top notch.
4 Extreamly even toasting results.
5 Relatively quick toasting.
6 Very wide slots.
7 Bagel and warming functions.
8 Body of toaster remains cool to touch.

I'm am very happy with our choice. If you're looking for quality you won't go wrong. You can buy a cheaper toaster, but in my opinion not not a better one.

Quite sharp looking; Well constructed; Once you know how you like to have your typical bread or bagel toasted, just choose the appropriate toaster setting and -vola!- perfect every time. The trick is different breads may need more or less time (e.g. if your bakery made it that day). Excellent for bagels.

This toaster is the last one we will have to buy. The brushed stainless finish looks great on the counter. Easy to use and does different types of breads, i.e bagels, muffins. By the time you have gone through the cheaper toasters you mine as well spend the money and buy this one that will last.

This is one toaster thats a bargain for the money. Very well constructed with quality stainless body, removable crumb tray, oversized controls, and thick commercial electric cord. This is no small toaster! Toasting different breads was easy, and it toasted to perfection. I have found the best setting of shade control (10 settings) at 4 for perfect results. I have looked at almost every toaster in the 20-100 dollar range with disapointing results, until I seen the Kitchen Aid. I highly reccommend it!
